Angry at God? No. Angry at the humans who use books of supersition written 2 or 3 millenia ago to manipulate and control the lives of others in the present time. Isn't it obvious to you Christ alone that the god of the Bible is a god that belongs to the time when "his" book was written? The entire morality belongs to that era. Today, that morality is completely anachronistic and therefore that book is too. The only way to keep it up to date is creating all kinds of convoluted theodicies.

The true story of the Bible regarding God's view of Genocide
by Christ Alone inyes, i already know the atheist's anger towards god, and the attempts to erroneously state that he advocated genocide, which .
i am ready to hear all the anger directed towards the god that these men and women state that they don't believe in.
they might as well be angry with the fsm.

Why do prisoners need to hear the word of God, not the words of atheists?
by His Excellency insorry for my english, i'm just a beginner.
i have recently been thinking of why prisoners are often visited by pastors and not atheists?, and i have also wondered what an atheist would tell to comfort someone who is in prison.. for instance, what will you recommend for an inmate to read if you visit him or her in a prison cell?, "god is not great- how religion poisons everything?
" or "what does the bible really teach"?..

Words of comfort to prisoners:
"If you don't improve your behavior/ethics you are going to rotten here and if you get worse you are going to the gallows"
"Jesus will forgive you 77 times, but in California you get three strikes and you are out"
What's better to straighten out the prisoner, 77 chances or 3 chances. I vote for three. Between 77 victims and 3, I take three. In fact, Jesus would take three if he lived today to see how wrong he was about trusting human's repentance.

Analysis of anti-607 BCE Rebuttals
by Ethos ini agreed yesterday to engage in the '607' topic.
i've read numerous threads and am well aware that this topic has been addressed and dissected quite thoroughly.
therefore, if you are uninterested in participating, that's fine.

I have looked at all the observations recorded on VAT4956 and applied them to both 588/587 BCE and 568/567 BCE using the same astro program the Watchtower's researchers used. Following rigorous criteria the results are zero matches for 588/587 BCE as Neb II 37th year. But I found 34 matches out of 36 for 568/567 BCE.
The only way to get few lunar position matches for 588/587 BCE (using the WT scheme) is by ignoring the fact that you are using a fabricated calendar that is not attested by the thousands of known dated tablets, creating thus a calendar year that starts at the "wrong month" (a month late). You can get few more lunar matches by ignoring the non-visibility of the first crescent for the first day of the month on the fabricated calendar, creating thus a calendar year with at least three months that start "at the wrong day of the month" (one day too soon). Even overlooking all the trickery of the WT, the best you can do is get no more than 8 matches for 588/587 BCE.
Regarding time intervals and planetary positions you have a 100 % success rate for 568/567 bce and 100 % failure rate for 588/587 bce.
CONCLUSION: 587/586 BCE is the date for the fall of Jerusalem according to the Bible itself.

You should pretend to be a WT apologetic using the flimsy arguments from the WT, I am sure a well informed "apostate" can take you on "your argument". At some point you weaken your arguments until you look like you have been thoroughly defeated and embarrased by those "mentally diseased". That may get some converts to the dark side.

Sex before marriage would eliminate a lot of unhappy marriages in the Borg...
by sinis insensible, safe sex, in my opinion, should be engaged in.
because, as you get older and are ready to settle down, you will look at your potential sole mate, not for sexual reasons, but for what they have to offer mentally and if they are compatible.
when religion restricts this, and yuo must marry to have sex, i believe that you doom a marriage at the outset, because these young folks marry out of lust, only to have the rose colored blinders pulled off later, and regret the entire arrangement... .

one of my JW nephews is 24 and never has kissed a girl, unless he is living a double life. The guy is good looking and girls do go after him. I am pretty sure he is heterosexual. The point is, he is wasting the best, most potent years of his life for submitting to the stupid morality of the bible and few other books. I agree with marriage as a contract to protect the offsprings, not to regulate the most joyous act two consenting humans can have (of course I make exception for chilfren).

Questions Regarding the New Light on the FDS
by Ding init's my understanding that the old light regarding the faithful and discreet slave was that in 1918-1919 jesus appointed the faithful and discreet slave over all his house.. but under the new light, it's a two-stage process.. now the "truth" is that in 1919 jesus appointed the governing body to provide spiritual food in due season and the gb will only be placed in authority over his domestics during the great tribulation.. all of this is wt nonsense, but in order to get jws who believe this stuff to think about the implications, my questions are:.
1. what will the future appointment authorize the governing body to do that is not yet authorized?.
2. since under the old light the governing body has wrongly believed they have had this authority since 1919, doesn't this mean they have been wrongly exercising authority that jesus hasn't yet given them?.

Now I understand why many JW's are in the cleaning business. It's part of their spiritual heritage projected into their job.
Ann,
Are you implying that Jesus must get into a different line of work?

On the Way OUt
There was no change in 2011. However, the article When was ancient Jerusalem Destroyed? (defense of 607 BCE) was, IMHO, the article with the greateses number of objetionable statements and quotes. Misquoting, quoting out of context, outright lies were everywhere. I have done extensive study on that article and I am sure it takes the prize as the MOST INTELECTUALLY DISHONEST ARTICLE EVER.
